MINI BLOCK / BARREL SPRINGS

MINI Barrel Springs are a type of compression spring where the coils are reduced in diameter as they get closer to the ends of the spring.
As in regular compression springs, loads can be changed by varying the material size, active coils and free length.
The shape of the barrel can also affect the loads. MINI Barrel Springs tend to buckle less under load and may be designed to allow some coils to compress inside one another to give a lower solid height. To speed up the production process and lower costs for the buyer, automated equipment is used to produce most barrel springs.
Barrel (convex) Springs are produced so that they have a higher tolerance to buckling under certain stresses. Unlike a typical compression spring, the barrel spring is convex in shape, which allows for a lower solid height under load.
